Adal Berman is the founder and CEO of COTO Collective, a boutique marketing agency that operates as a fully integrated marketing department for growing companies, with a particular focus on the practical implementation of artificial intelligence.
Raised in Paris by a lecturer at the Louvre, Adal earned a master's in social psychology before joining the late-2000s San Francisco startup scene as a web designer and developer. He founded his company in 2009 and has spent the last sixteen years delivering websites, CRM systems, copywriting, and custom technology solutions to over 200 businesses, ranging from solopreneurs to enterprise clients like LendingTree, alongside philanthropic work with the Masons of California and their DeMolay youth program.
Today he leads a curated team of specialists serving companies of 15 to 100 employees who are ready to grow, and is committed to bringing operational excellence to as many of them as possible.
Erin Nelson is the Director of Operations and Client Delivery at COTO Collective, responsible for the systems and rhythms that keep every client engagement organized from kickoff through launch.
She runs COTO's weekly Level 10 meetings, owns project delivery across the agency, and maintains the operational infrastructure that lets the team execute in sync. Working alongside the specialists driving the creative and technical work, she keeps timelines, priorities, and communication flowing cleanly between the team, leadership, and clients.
Today she's the operational anchor that lets every COTO engagement move with clarity and momentum. Erin brings the structure, organization, and people-first leadership style that make our high-performing team a delight to work with.

Amelia leads content strategy and copywriting across every COTO client, developing the words that bring brands to life across websites, marketing collateral, email campaigns, and social media. She deeply understands each client's voice, goals, and audience. She's the connective thread between who a client actually is and the words their market finally reads. Your brand has a soul…she's the one finding it and putting it on the page. Amelia also plays a key client-facing role, leading content presentations, conducting brand definition interviews, and gathering the feedback that shapes every deliverable.
Sarah sets the visual standard for everything the agency creates. She's responsible for brand visual development from mood boards and logo design to full brand guidelines, as well as website and landing page design, marketing collateral, and social media assets. Sarah is deeply passionate about design, self-driven, and quick to adopt new tools and technologies that push the quality bar higher. She establishes the art direction for each client, ensuring every visual element is cohesive, distinctive, and aligned with the brand. Every visual touchpoint a client has with their market goes through her.
Emma leads all media production at COTO as the team's primary photographer and videographer, and one of its most creative voices. She produces photo and video content across client projects, from brand storytelling and promotional videos to social media content and team photoshoots. Emma brings a collaborative, detail-oriented approach to her work, consistently asking the right clarifying questions to ensure every piece of content hits the mark. She also supports other specialists in creative work, bridging the gap between design, copy, and motion to create cohesive visual narratives.
TECHNOLOGY & DEVELOPMENT
Billy is the technical backbone behind every digital solution COTO delivers. He's responsible for website development, hosting and server infrastructure, domain management, system integrations, and custom technical builds across all client projects. Equally comfortable troubleshooting complex server configurations as he is scoping custom API connections and building AI-powered tools, Billy is the go-to for the work that templated solutions can't touch. He also provides IT support for the internal team and handles technical onboarding for new systems.
Steven brings a CTO-level perspective to COTO's technical operations and infrastructure. He collaborates with leadership on complex projects, new tool implementations, and big-picture technical strategy, from AI agent pipelines to deployments and developer workflows. He's been instrumental in architecting and deploying the internal systems that power how COTO operates, the kind of work that turns capability into capacity. His ability to see the big picture while staying focused on execution makes him a key partner on the projects that shape how the agency runs at scale.
Rinar leads SEO strategy, implementation, and development work across COTO clients. He handles keyword research, page intent analysis, technical SEO audits, and search performance tracking, the work that ensures COTO websites don't just look great but get found. Known for thorough, reliable SEO work, Rinar collaborates closely with the content and design teams to make sure every page is optimized from structure to content. He also contributes to development projects and partners with leadership on software product exploration.
